Award Winning Restoration
Included!
This year we are offering two self-guided
walking tours. Guests will receive a Tour Program which
includes maps, directions, and descriptions of all the homes and
inns. On duty staff at Tour Headquarters will also be
available to assist our guests.
The prestigious Historic Savannah
Foundation has just presented a coveted "Historic
Preservation Award" to the owners of a stately Chatham
Square home on this year's tour! Thorough research and
top quality craftsmanship have returned this home close to
its original state, and we are pleased to include it in our
afternoon program.
The afternoon tour begins at noon and
includes six historic homes, the Sanctuary of the Lutheran
Church of the Ascension, and the opportunity to visit a
special selection of historic inns, sparkling in their holiday dress,
from the
"Savannah Bed and Breakfasts" group of downtown
properties. The afternoon tour ends at 4 pm.
Our evening tour begins at 5:00 pm, when
Savannah's streets are softly lit and candlelight flickers in
the homes. Six different homes will be on the tour, along
with the church sanctuary and the designated Savannah Bed and Breakfasts
inns. Trolley service is included in the evening tour, and
you may also catch a glimpse of Savannah's mounted police.
The tour ends at 8:30.
For the energetic, we recommend both
tours! You will appreciate how Savannah's beauty evolves
as night falls, have an opportunity to rest briefly in different
historic inns on each tour, and be able to visit all twelve
homes.
