INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES FOR HOLIDAY TOUR OF HOMES GUESTS

The Downtown Neighborhood Association's Holiday Tour of Homes takes place in private homes and inns, graciously opened to the public by generous Savannah owners.

Please note the following information and guidelines, which are necessary to protect the interiors and furnishing of the homes and inns on tour and ensure an enjoyable experience for all tour guests.

  • Each of the two self-guided tours features a different set of homes and inns. These vary in size, architectural styles, and periods. They are not museum houses, but private residences representing the full range of Savannah's historic downtown neighborhood. Most historic houses and inns are high-stooped with 8 to 12 steps to climb for entry and, as such, are not accessible by wheelchairs.
  • Please wear appropriate walking shoes. High-heeled shoes are not allowed on the tour, as they may damage the historic wood floors. Flat soled shoes are also much more comfortable and safer for strolling Savannah's uneven historic streets and sidewalks.
  • Well-supervised children are welcome; but babies, children which are carried by parents, and strollers are not allowed inside the historic homes.
  • No photography or videotaping is allowed inside the historic homes.

he Downtown Neighborhood Association is a non-profit organization. Proceeds from the tour are directed toward the continued preservation and enhancement of Savannah's Landmark Historic District and to local organizations that enhance the community through education, safety, music, and children's activities. Due to the nature of the event, tickets are non-refundable.
